Top Traits of a Potential Leader
Can you spot a potential leader?
Below is a list of top traits of a potential leader, as presented on DuVita's Cruise to Success training to help you identify leadership traits within yourself and within your Team.
- Successful in other areas of life
- Entrepreneurial and business minded
- Has a solid circle of influence
- Passionate about helping others
- Credible and respected
- Urgent desire/hunger to succeed:
* Has a scheduled time commitment
* Is coachable
* Exhibits strong listening skills
* Lives intelligently and responsibly
- Shows respect to others regardless of position
The Pathway to Success: Goal Setting Tips for 2011
1. Establish your Why. Envision your Dream:
· Write down your Dreams. Put a date on them. Be specific.
· Visualize your Dreams. Create a “Dream Board”. A Dream Board is a collection of pictures, words, and inspiring images that you can create and place somewhere you will see it daily to help keep you focused on your goals.
· Share your Why and Dreams with your spouse, family and Team leaders.
2. Set specific, measurable goals. In order for a goal to be attained, it must be:
· Written down· Specific
· Measurable
· Realistic yet challenging
· Date oriented
3. Be committed to achieving your goals. Simply writing down goals does not guarantee your success.
· Invest some time, energy and financial resources· Become a student of Relationship Marketing (Read & Listen to proved Leaders)
· Think long-term in building your business (Not get rich quick)
· Develop an Action Plan and Set your Plan in Action
· Help others to get started and become Successful
4. Build a List of Prospects. Build Relationships that turn into Friendships that last a Lifetime.
· Write down names, phone numbers and emails of everyone· Use a Memory Jogger list of people you know
· Use numerous resources (lead generators, web tools)
· Learn to engage strangers in conversations about “them”
· Do not pre-judge, but do pre-qualify and choose wisely
5. Contact, Invite and Share. It’s not Selling…It’s Telling.
· Ask questions…be interested…not interesting· Lead with your ears and listen more than talk
· Find common ground to solidify a friendship
· Don’t be afraid to tell the person about your business
· Invite the person to a home meeting or to view a webinar
6. Take advantage of Tools and Events. You are a Messenger, not a Salesman.
· Set up a three-way conference calls with your upteam leader· Host a one-on-one presentation
· Invite someone to a Discover DuVita webinar, home meeting , opportunity meeting, or regional DuVita corporate event
7. Follow-up and Follow Through. Follow-up is crucial to getting people engaged in your business.
· Book and keep your follow-up appointments· Seeing the opportunity multiple times assures that folks are interested and serious about getting started
· Follow-up should be personal and informal
· Allows for questions and helping them define their Dreams
· Shows the prospect that you keep your word and you care
· Allows you to determine the persons Timing
8. Get Started. Once a prospect has been exposed to the program, one of three decisions will be made:
· I’d like to Get Started now· I want more Information
· I am interested in the use of the Product
9. Counsel your Upteam. Counseling with your sponsor and/or active Upteam leader is an important key to your success.
· Counsel with the wise, and become wise· You are part of a Team that will help you as much as you will allow
· Review your business plan and evaluate your progress
10. Duplicate Yourself. Your success will ultimately be determined by your ability to Duplicate yourself.
· Others will duplicate your habits and commitments: good habits and not so good habits· Be what you want others to be in this network
· Build your organization as the model, then go duplicate that model as something all will want to follow
· You should do exactly what you wish others to do

- Sign in or create a Facebook account for yourself, then Connect with DuVita on Facebook.
- Suggest DuVita’s Facebook page to friends. Here’s How: Go to DuVita’s page, then click “suggest to friends” underneath the DuVita logo in the top left corner.
- Share a status update from DuVita by clicking “share” underneath the post, either in your Facebook feed or go to DuVita’s Facebook page.
- Mention BURST4 in a status update on your Facebook page.
- Edit your personal Facebook Profile to list yourself as a DuVita Independent Associate in the “About Me” section. Here’s How: Go to your Facebook profile page, then click “Edit Profile” in the top right corner. The box to edit the “About Me” is at the bottom.
- Sign in or create a YouTube account for yourself, then Subscribe to DuVita’s YouTube Channel Here’s How: Go to DuVita’s YouTube Channel, then click the yellow “Subscribe” box next to the DuVita logo, at the top left of the page. Now, you will receive email updates when DuVita adds videos.
- Watch and share DuVita’s videos on Facebook, like this one: Discover DuVita Here’s How: Underneath the video player, click ‘share”- you will have an option to select Facebook and post a personalized message with the video to your Facebook wall for all of your friends to see.
- “Like” the videos as you watch and play them on DuVita’s YouTube Channel . This will show up on your Facebook feed, so your friends can check them out as well!
- Sign in or create a Twitter account for yourself, then Follow @DuVitaLLC on Twitter.
- RT one of DuVita’s Tweets.
- Edit your Twitter profile to list yourself a DuVita Independent Associate add a link to your DuVita replicated website.
- Sign in or create a LinkedIn account for yourself, then Subscribe to DuVita’s LinkedIn Company page . Here’s How: Go to DuVita’s LinkedIn Company page, then click the “Follow” box, at the top right of the page. Now, you can connect with other DuVita Associates to share ideas and business building tips!
- Share an overview of DuVita’s opportunity with your LinkedIn connections. Here’s How: Click the “services” tab on DuVita’s LinkedIn Company profile, then click “share” underneath the descriptive paragraph. This will allow you to create a custom message, while sharing this page with all of your LinkedIn connections.
- Edit your LinkedIn Profile to list yourself as a DuVita Independent Associate. Here’s How: Go to your LinkedIn Profile page, then click the “edit profile” tab. You can add your DuVita Independent Associate information by clicking, “Add a current position” in the top box, “Current”.
- List your DuVita replicated website address in the “websites” section of your profile.
